When the EcoStruxure IT Gateway server starts, it detects all the available network adapters defined in the operating system and uses all of them to connect to the devices. When you are logged into the Gateway, the IP addresses the Gateway is communicating with are displayed on the Settings > About page.
You can use the Gateway user interface on the public network as a proxy to the user interfaces of the monitored devices on the private network.
Note: The Gateway user interface does not limit how many network adapters it connects to. One public and one private network is typical.
To connect to a device user interface:
In the Gateway, go to Devices. Click a device and then the Details tab.
Click the IP address link to launch to the device.

The EcoStruxure IT Gateway gets its date and time settings from the server the software is installed on.
Note: The Gateway appliance has an option to configure an NTP server.
It is recommended that you install EcoStruxure IT Gateway on a dedicated VM or hardware server.
If you must install the Gateway on a server with shared resources, make sure there are enough free resources for your Gateway installation. The required CPU and memory depends on the number of monitored devices and the protocol.

Yes. The EcoStruxure IT Gateway can discover APC EcoStruxure Ready Smart-UPS that use a Network Management Card via SNMPv1 or SNMPv3.
You also can connect your EcoStruxure Ready Smart-UPS directly to EcoStruxure IT using the SmartConnect port. Features are limited.

Gateway appliance version 1.10 and newer
Yes. You can change the default settings from the Gateway appliance private network user interface.
See EcoStruxure IT Gateway appliance installation and setup - version 1.10 and newer
Gateway appliance version 1.9 and older
No. The Gateway appliance private LAN subnet must be 198.168.x.x. The IP address for the Gateway appliance is 192.168.0.1 by default.
You must contact support to change the Gateway appliance private LAN subnet to anything other than 192.168.x.x.
DO NOT USE WEBMIN TO CHANGE THE SUBNET FOR THE GATEWAY APPLIANCE PRIVATE LAN
If you connect to Webmin on the private LAN and change the Gateway appliance IP address to a subnet other than 192.168.x.x, you will be locked out of Webmin, and completely locked out of the Gateway appliance. You must then call support to reset your appliance.
Both the EcoStruxure IT Gateway software installed on a server and the EcoStruxure IT Gateway appliance can be used to monitor devices across multiple network interfaces. This includes incorporating the Gateway into an existing DCE deployment to monitor devices on the DCE private LAN.
Gateway appliance
The Gateway Appliance has dual network ports. It can be used exclusively on the public network connection, or also be connected to a secondary private network.
The Gateway appliance includes DHCP server functionality on the secondary network, similar to the DCE server. There must be only one DHCP source a given network. If you connect the Gateway appliance's secondary network to a network that is already serviced by a DHCP source, be sure to follow the documentation on Managing DHCP on the Gateway appliance to disable the Gateway appliance's DHCP server.
Installed Gateway software
The Gateway can discover equipment connected to any of the network adapters on the system running the Gateway software.
The installed Gateway software does not provide DHCP server functionality. If your private network has no DHCP source, you must install and configure a DHCP server on that subnet.
If you need to add an additional network adapter to a system that is already running the Gateway, you must restart the Gateway software before the new adapter will be recognized by the software.
