It is recommended that you install EcoStruxure IT Gateway on a dedicated VM or hardware server.
If you must install the Gateway on a server with shared resources, make sure there are enough free resources for your Gateway installation. The required CPU and memory depends on the number of monitored devices and the protocol.
So, about needing a dedicated server for EcoStruxure IT Gateway, here's my take: while it's recommended for optimal performance, you can still make it work on a shared server if you manage your resources wisely.
