How are amendments for Power Operation subscription licenses calculated?

With the introduction of Power Operation subscription licensing (available in some countries starting June 2025), the end user and/or EcoXpert can opt to amend their Power Operation system anytime during the duration of the subscription period.   For example, an end user could initially purchase a 3-year subscription license for the Essential (ie: base tier) of Power Operation.   Then after the first 3 months of use, the end user decides to move to the Advanced Tier of Power Operation.   Using the Software Companion, the Advanced Tier charges would only be applied for the remaining duration of the 3-year term.   In the example above, if the end user decided to amend a 3-year period after the first 3 months, the Software Companion would calculate 33 months of an Essential to Advanced amendment.   The same principle would be applied to an end user adding more of the following during the remaining duration of a subscription term: Device licenses Add-on modules (eg: PowerSCADA Anywhere, Insulation Monitoring or Backup power testing)

How is my license updated in EPO software after I completed an amendment or renewal?

Updating a Power Operation license for EPO 2024, 2022 or 2021 systems whether it is a subscription license (introduced in some countries in June 2025) or a perpetual license is done in the License Configuration Tool on the PC that the Power Operation Server is installed on.   You can find information on license management in the Power Operation System Guide here: Power Operation 2024 Help.      Specifically, when the Power Operation has been updated after the renewal or amendment process, one would follow one of the two workflows: System is online (connected to the Internet), one would follow the License Refresh steps in the System Guide: Refreshing a license.    System is offline (system is not connected to the Internet), one would need to follow the offline Return and new Activation processes.

What is the difference between vouchers and licenses?

When you order Schneider Electric software products, you will receive an email with codes for digital vouchers. These vouchers represent the products and quantities you have ordered, but they do not create a license yet. The voucher codes do not activate the software.   First, redeem the vouchers in your Digital Locker within the Software Companion. You can store them there until you are ready to create, amend, or renew a license.    When you are ready to use the vouchers, the Software Companion will check if they match your configuration's type and quantity. If they do, it will generate an Activation ID for the software, consuming the vouchers from your Digital Locker.    If the vouchers do not match your configuration, you will need to either:  Purchase additional vouchers to cover the missing type/quantity, or  Adjust your configuration to fit the available vouchers.  For subscription-based software, activating the license will start your subscription period, typically for 1 or 3 years, depending on your order.

What is a Digital Locker?

A Digital Locker is a personal digital repository where you can redeem and store digital vouchers for Schneider Electric software. You access it through EcoStruxure Power & Building Software Companion.    You can only have one Digital Locker associated with your user credentials. All the vouchers you will redeem will be added to your Digital Locker. Vouchers for the same product commercial reference will add up.    If you invite another user to your Digital Locker and this user accepts, your Digital Locker will become shared and all available vouchers will be visible and accessible to both users, in a shared pool.  If the invited user already had a Digital Locker of their own, then both Digital Lockers will be combined into a single one, with vouchers from both lockers added to the shared pool. Only the original inviter will have the capacity to invite more users to the Digital Locker.   We recommend that you limit any invitation to users from your company to avoid any issue.    Once vouchers are redeemed in your Digital Locker, you can no longer share them with a person external to your Digital Locker. If you are not the person going to use the vouchers, it is best to forward the voucher email to the person who will actually need to redeem and use them instead.    Please note that your Digital Locker is also accessible through mySchneider in countries where the Software Management business service is activated. You can store vouchers for other Schneider Electric software outside of the EcoStruxure Power and Building portfolio, but all actions related to EcoStruxure Power and Building software (EcoStruxure Building Operation, Power Monitoring Expert, EcoStruxure Power Operation, etc.) will take you to the Software Companion for completion.

Can I push a Bill of Materials to my ordering platform?

Yes, the Software Companion enables you to push a bill of materials (BOM) to your usual Schneider Electric platform. Depending on your country and your agreement with Schneider Electric, several options are available.    Once you have created a project, you have an option to Proceed to Checkout.    If you are an EcoXpert Building Automation partner in USA:  Once you have saved your Project, you can select the action from the menu: Download as CSV.   This action provides three options: select iPortal. A CSV file is automatically generated using the iPortal standard template. You can now use this file to import your BOM in iPortal platform to check your price and proceed with ordering.    If you are an EcoXpert Power Management partner in USA:  Once you have saved your Project, you can select the action from the menu: Download as CSV   This action provides three options: select SE Advantage  A CSV file is automatically generated using the SE Advantage standard template. You can now use this file to import your BOM in SE Advantage platform to check your price and/or share this information with your Distributor to proceed with the order.  If you are an EcoXpert Building Automation, Power Management or Power Automation partner in another country and have a direct ordering relationship with Schneider Electric:    Once you have saved your Project, you can select the action from the menu: Proceed to Checkout.   A check is done to confirm your purchasing account. When the account is found, you can click on Next. The Review and Confirm screen displays the purchasing account selected as well as the detailed BOM. Review to ensure everything is correct. If not, you can always click the Previous button and make corrections.  Click the Add to mySchneider Cart button.  A new browser tab opens and you will be taken to your mySchneider Order Cart. The selected BOM appears in the Add products section  Complete the ordering form with the relevant information (PO Number, etc) and Installer Email in the Software license delivery section.  Once all necessary details are entered, click the View final order button. The system will check your specific pricing and discount conditions and display the final price.  Click Submit order to complete your order.  The message “Your order has been placed successfully” is displayed along with Schneider Electric order number for your reference.  In case no purchasing account is found, or the order is not processed successfully, please contact your Schneider Electric Sales Representative for assistance.     If you are an EcoXpert Building Automation, Power Management or Power Automation partner in another country and have a direct ordering relationship with Schneider Electric:  Once you have saved your Project, you can select the action from the menu: Download as CSV.   This action provides three options: select Generic. A CSV file is automatically generated. You can now use this file to check your price and/or share this information with your Distributor to proceed with the order.
