Symmetra MW have TCP communication (web interface like local display and SNMP, but only few parameters) and Modbus on 485 interface.

Dear Valentin, Does Modbus Over TCP output from an existing display MW NMC card provide more info on DCE if we discover the UPS via Modbus over TCP? or Do we still need to an EGX100 Gateway? We are thinking of providing DCE to one of the Customers to monitor Symmetra MW UPS. But, didn't know that SNMP and Modbus over RS485 have got difference in the monitoring parameters. In our solution, we have not considered the EGX100, but thinking to use only Modbus Over TCP from an existing display NMC. Please confirm

Hi Bala! MW supports Modbur RTU only over RS-485, Modbus ASCII and Modbus TCP are not supported, so you need Gateway.

Hi Fabio,

               If you want to monitor on DCE then you should go on Modbus 485, and use the EGX100 Modbus TCP gateway and put MW DDF into DCE, then you can able to monitor sensor value of MW on DCE.
