They told us to start transitioning for the new REST API in 8.0, I ran 8.1 and continued to use the old API for some functions as I wrote replacement code. Not everything I needed was in the REST API yet so in 8.1 some calls had to be made to the old SOAP API.
After upgrading to 8.2, the SOAP API seems to have disappeared abruptly now!
Nothing in the release notes to say that was the case. I called and opened a case and was told there was nothing they could do now since it's depreciated and I should have already moved.
Guys, you don't say you are transitioning to a new API and not give a clear indication of its life time (example, this API will stop being available in 8.2). The guide simply said that no new features would be added to the SOAP side. That’s reasonable. Pulling the plug in a dot release is not! This is terrible news now that I’ve upgraded and ran for several days on the new version.

Sure. You can reference case 45532798. I checked and the firewallD process is off on my appliance.
The REST API works, but the SOAP API returns "No Found".
The tech told me nobody would help me with the SOAP API any longer, and now I'm weeks out of compliant with my asset inventory and I'm getting screamed at.
If you have any way to get the SOAP API to respond again, please feel free to contact me directly. I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Steve,
We did upgrade one DCO server from 8.1 to 8.2 and we are able to access SOAP API using soapUI tool successfully.
Could you please share your observations where you were not able to access soap api?
Note: We did disable the firewall in "Webmin -> setup" page in order to access the soap API
Regards,
Rajesh

Hi Steve,
Seems like you are using v2, that might be the issue.
Could you try to use -latest instead.

Have only tested and not looked into the details yet. Will update on that at a later point.

Oh wow. You may have just saved my bacon. That URL works and I am back in business!
Can somebody tell the support team to handle these types of issues a little better? I would have gladly waited for them to check with an internal team; but a flat-out response like this was counter-productive at the least.

Hi Steve,
Happy to hear you are back up and running.
We have taken note and hopefully improved our process.
We have updated our documentation. There are various versions for various webservices. The following page now documents that:
StruxureWare Data Center Operation Web Service API
If possible please let us know what functionality you are missing in the REST API?
