We have the DCE version 7.2.7 and we intend to manage a Stemac generator via Modbus / TCP, has already been made improtação the DDF file from DeepSea DSE 7420, however to complete the configuration for DCE received the communication error fault. They could help us.

Hi Jeremias,
The easiest way to troubleshoot communications issues between DCE and a modbus device is to start by going directly to the modbus gateway if one is being uses. For instance, the TSXETG100 gateway has the option to be able to poll the devices. If you take one or more of the registers from the DDF and try polling the device's slave address as entered in DCE from the gateway, does the gateway show the proper values? If it does not, the issue is between the gateway and the device. If you are getting values, continue troubleshooting farther out.
If you have a modbus over IP software (there are a few free or shareware utilities), try putting your computer on the same network segment as the DCE server. Now poll the gateway and slave address for the registers you used previously. If you do not receive data but you did when you went directly to the gateway for this test, the issue lies somewhere on the network. Maybe you would want to try on the same segment as the device. If that works and the segment DCE is on does not work, it is likely an issue with data being blocked by a firewall / router.
Did you get the DDF from multivendorsupport@apc.com?
Does the model specified in the ddf match your Stemac generator model exactly?
What troubleshooting, if any, have you done?
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Steve The DCE is directly connected to the DSE7420 lan private network, slave settings ID 10 and default ports. Using the same settings in the Deepsea DSE Configuration Suite works in network communication. It may be that the DDF file is incorrect. We will be requesting a new DDF file.

Hi Jeremias,
Im not familiar with that software but if it is using Modbus over ip, we should be able to do the same with StruxureWare. If it is not using Modbus and is instead using another protocol, it's not really a valid test, it is just showing that it is on the network and not necessarily available via Modbus. What registers did you poll, can you send the DDF?

Thanks Steve Yes uses Modbus over IP . Follow the DDF file

Thanks Jeremias, and the specific registers you were polling? Steve
