Although not a massive priority, we have noticed that some work orders appear to be missing. These were not we believe actually created by anyone, in other words there are work order numbers - sequentially missing - but not work orders. Is there a known reason for this occurrence?

Hi Nigel,
Many thanks for providing the data - the "missing" work order numbers seems to be reserved numbers that are not used. When starting a task/work order, work order number may be reserved - so it seems the non existing work orders are the reserved, but not saved work orders (eg. closed without saving).
Kind regards

Thanks Jef. I always thought that if a work order was started but then closed - or DCO closed without saving - then a work order number would not be assigned. I only though work order numbers were assigned at the point of 'save'. Therefore there should not be 'reserved' numbers?

Hi Nigel,
You are most welcome - behind the scenes creating a work order initiates "taking/reserving" a work order number. Reserved number can/may be released if not used, however not releasing the number may also be expected specially in a multi-user environment.
Kind regards
