Hi Steffan,

Follow the below steps It will help you to see the DDF working or not.

1) Remove and re-add your device using below method

Go to Device > Add device > Select Modbus TCP in device discovery > Put the device IP address > select the right DDF and finish.

2) After adding the device go to Map view in monitoring area and put mouse on device mouse-over will show you the sensors and values that means your DDF is working.

For Example:

Rana Ajmal

Hi Steffan,

As Rana noted above, you must manually select the DDF for Modbus and as long as you choose the correct one, it should poll the correct values. If you discovered the device with the old DDF and replaced (overwrote) the DDF afterwards, you will likely get the new values but you may need to delete the device and rediscover to be sure.

For SNMP devices there is no way to see what DDF is being used. If you have overwritten the old DDF, you may again want to delete and rediscover the device however simply re-polling should work. If you simply added another DDF, as Rana mentioned you may want to delete the old one first.

I have seen issues in the past with Uniflair devices that use the old Carel Pcoweb cards. Those cards would re-use OIDs and did not specifically define the specific unit so DCE would not know which DDF to use if it had many Uniflair SNMP DDFs and you could get the wrong responses from the DDF it did use. If you had 3 different devices with this card it would simply use the 1st DDF on the list. If you are using the older Pcoweb cards, please don't add multiple SNMP devices of different types and don't add multiple SNMP DDFs.

Steve

Okay thats clear, but how do i delete a DDF from the list. When i try to select for example Uniflair LE and remove it, it appears again in the list when i open it up again

Hi Steffan, That looks like an issue. I'm seeing the same thing where it shows the ability to delete and appears to go away but comes back in the next opening of the window. The good thing is that this DDF is based on the APC NMC with a .318 enterprise OID and not the PCOweb card OIDs so this will not be part of the issue I outlined previously. Steve
