Hi ,
We have DCE Server 7.4.1 on one of our Virtual servers, due to company policy we need to action and submit a change that is required to disable TLS 1.0 in the server registry, will this cause or have any impact running DCE?
Regards,
Gerry

Hi Gerry,
Earlier versions of DCE did not have the option to disable TLS 1.0. With 7.5 there is an option to disable it in the UI. There is no supported way in the older versions to get this done through the OS itself.

Hi Gerardo Baluyot
Its also worth checking how you back up your DCE environment. If you use a Windows File Share, this will no longer work. you will need to set up NFS instead.
please see my other thread about this TLS 1.0 backup issue
I have not had a chance to carry out this action yet, but thought it was one for you to consider.

Dear Martin Parks,
I will correct you: the problem described in your post has nothing to do with the TLS encryption, that is used to establish an encrypted connection between the DCE server and the client over the HTTPS protocol.
With respect.

I Was totally thinking of the wrong thing here, I was thinking of the SMBv1 issue with the backups.
By disabling TLS 1.0, how does this effect the Portal?

You mean a separate Schneider Electric software StruxureWare Portal?
If this is the case, disabling TLS 1.0 encryption on the DCE-7.5.0 server side (any other version of DCE-7.x software does not have this capability), nothing bad will happen. That is, the connection between the DCE server and StruxureWare Portal (latest version is 1.3.7) will all also work normally.
With respect.
