Hi Martin,
I've been told that StruxureWare Portal should be used with its shipped java (that's been tested during the software development), I think the latest Portal (currently v1.3.3) is shipped with Java 7.
Kind regards

Hello Jef,
Thank you for the info, Having looked in to this a bit more after seeing your comment, the Java Version on my server is Version 7 update 79. Oracle are currently on Update 111.
Update 79 ran out of support April 2015.
Do you know if there is likely to be any upgrade to Java?

Hi Jef, I have another customer that needed an updated version of java 8. I can provide a list of vulnerabilities detected by their security software Rapid7 if that helps. If you need additional details let me know.

Hi Martin,
I've been told that Portal supports the java that is basically shipped with. I understand you well, but unfortunately due to the Liferay version, Portal works best with its shipped Java. And as far as I know, there is no plans to update StruxureWare Portal to the latest Liferay platform for the time being.
Kind regards
