Hi,
I already know you cannot bulk export clips within the DCE software(only one clip at a time). Is there a way to get the needed files from a backup or from the DCE server somehow? We need to get all clips from one camera. Thanks

Hi Toby,
If you were to look at the images in the flat file system, you would see that they're all jpg files and not actually a "clip" I've never tried taking them out of a backup but I have looked at them when configured with a remote repository, You'd have to search by folders that are based on the camera ID and then date. You would then need to copy all of the individual images.
I don't suggest doing it this way as I believe it would actually take longer than going through the UI and exporting them individually.

Hi Steve,
A couple questions...
Where can I find out what the camera ID used in naming the folders in the backup for the camera?
I tried to open up a file in the backup with a image viewer but it failed. Are the files zipped or something? is there a way for me to open up the files from a backup?
If I found out what folder the camera I need to get all the files from in the backup was, can I move that to another DCE systems camera folder and restore from a backup and the images will be restored to the other DCE systems camera? Sorta like loading fake data to the other camera just so we can see specific files within a new DCE enviroment.
Thanks
Toby

Hi Toby,
As I mentioned, I've never looked in the backup. I have looked on a remote repository only. I also noted that I recommend against using this option. It ould look something like:
/data/local/surv/B8CD227/B8CD227_nbOwlEnc_0_CAMERA/2016-09
B8CD227 would be based on the mac address of the bot and if you have 3 cameras, camera 1, 2, and 3, they would end up being owl 0, 1, and 2.
