We want to add some non-Pelco IP cameras to our StruxureWare surveillance. Does anyone use cameras that are not Pelco? I'm already aware that a camera that's not "officially supported" has no guarantee from APC/Schnieder that it will work, however, I just want to know if it will work, at all. We are using some newer Pelco Sarix IP cameras that are not on the support list, and they work fine, although their image quality is somewhat hindered by the software. There are some applications here at our company for which the officially-supported Pelco cameras will simply not work.

Hi Josh,
Currently no. StruxureWare DCE only supports Pelco cameras connected through NetBotz appliances. There are plans to support other IP based cameras in the future using the onvif protocol but that will likely be the next generation NetBotz that would support this.
Thanks,
Steve.

Steve - apologies if this sounds like a broken record - do you think some of the newer Pelco cameras (for example IMP121) will be supported with the next release of Netbotz 570 firmware, and if so, do you have any idea when a new firmware release might come out? It's nearly impossible these days to find older Pelco cameras that are officially supported. Thanks in advance for any information.

Hi Josh,
I can't say what Pelco models may be supported going forward, I've been given no info on this. What I can say is that the IMP121 is a Sarix Pro. If you look at k-base FA158450, you'll note the following:
Pelco Sarix Pro models that were originally listed as supported do not correctly update the resolution settings presented to NetBotz appliances. NetBotz can no longer support Sarix Pro models due to this limitation of the Pelco camera and they have been removed from this compatibility matrix.
Based on that, I'm guessing the IMP121 won't be one of the potential ones supported going forward.

Does anyone have any update on this feature request?
We require support of IP cameras besides Pelco/NetBotz for certatin customers and would be helpful if there are any information.
Best Regards,
Gen

Is there any news on that? Can we use non-pelco ip camera now?

Hi Sebastian,
There re are still no other camera vendors supported. I do not believe another vendor's cameras will be supported until the release of the next generation Netbotz appliance. I don't have any eta at this time.
