Struxureware datacenter expert sensor history report

Hi, Recently setup the Struxureware datacenter and a couple of attached netbotz room and rack monitors with external pod and sensors, I'm trying to see if i can run a history report for example on temperature for the past day from one of the pods temp sensors, but it says there is no data to display during this time frame when i run the report for last hour, and the sensor has been plugged in.

I think i may be missing part of the configuration/setup or an option for the netbotz devices to report and record data to the struxureware server.

Any help with setup in this regard so i can test reporting...

Second query if can be answered in same question was if Trap notifications can be sent to other devices to collate data, eg. solar winds and other management software.

Thanks

Hi brenninson,

As for NetBotz sensors history: as far as I know, no special or additional settings are required. I understood you correctly: since the NetBotz appliance was connected to a DCE-server, DCE reports do not have history information on the above sensors? You can see the history (per day, per hour, for example) on the NetBotz appliance sensors in the APC Advanced View software?

Second query if can be answered in same question was if Trap notifications can be sent to other devices to collate data, eg. solar winds and other management software.

Yes, of course, the DCE-server can be integrated in this way with other monitoring systems. For more information about this and the details of SNMP trap configuration sent by the DCE-server, see pages 217-220 of the User Assistance for StruxureWare Data Center Expert 7.4.x in the "Network Management System Integration option" section.

With respect.

Hi Ben,

If you're not seeing data, is it just from that one pod or is it from all pods and sensors? Do the date and time in DCE and the NetBotz appliance match? If they are different (If for instance the NetBotz appliance is 6 hours different), the data may not show up in the  last hour's worth of report but may show up after 6 hours has past. You can see that data if you do a report by date and potentially use a future date.

As for traps, Yes, DCE can send a trap to solarwinds as spezialist mentioned. You can also create an alarm action and use that trap functionality. If you're referring to sending a trap from DCE based on a NetBotz event however, you may want to do that from the NetBotz appliance directly using it's alert action functionality.

Steve.
