How I do to connect 2 RACK PDU with "A link" connection? I can not separate the parameters into DCE.

What PDUs do you have and what kind of issue are you having?

If you have them connected, can you see information from both in the Main PDU's web interface?

DO you have them both set up with individual IPs?

What firmware is on the device?

What version of DCE are you using?

Hi Diego,

You can request the most recent DDF  for the PDUs but I don't believe it has been tested on older versions of the system. Your best bet is to upgrade. If you do install the new DDF on the old system, I'd suggest creating a backup first just in case any unforeseen issues arise.

Hi Diego,

All SNMP or Modbus devices are discovered in DCE with the help of device definition files or DDFs. The DDF is an XML file that is used to define the SNMP OIDs as well as the specific formatting for each of them. The system already has a version of the DDF onboard as you can see if you go to:

Device–>Snmp Device Communications Settings–>Device Definition Files

You'll be able to see all the files that already exist on your server. Here's an example on mine:

As Spezialist noted, the most recent version of DCE has the most recent DDF. That DDF was changed to allow the use of the daisy-chained PDUs. Go to the Device Support link on the top of this page and request one for the APC PDU or, as I mentioned previously, upgrade to the most recent version. I can not say that the newest DDF works exactly the same on 7.2.7 but it likely will but has not been tested.

Briefly, it is necessary to connect the A-Link Out of one device with the A-Link In another with the usual network patch cord (with RJ-45 connectors). In this case, in others two empty A-Link Out and A-Link In connectors in the devices need to insert special terminators (they come with the devices).

I can not separate the parameters into DCE.

I.e., how will you distinguish the sensors of these combined devices in DCE? For rPDU, once it was really a problem. But in the current version of DCE-7.4.3 this problem is fixed: that is, the combined devices will look like one, but with different names of the same type of sensors (Device 1, Device 2, etc). For example, see the screenshot from the post

Great, last question, We have DCO too and capacity licences, if we change the DDF file of rPDU, Can we separate the values and asignate them to diferent PDU boards or diferent Racks?

As far as I know, DCO will associate the device with a single PDU if it is a single IP. I'll defer to those more familiar with associating devices in DCO if that too has been changed.
