Rack Access user credentials - mass configuration with DCE

Hi,

We are trying to integrate more than 120 racks with NBRK0250+NBHN1336 inside each with DCE and mass set up user's access rights (no Radius server, only local db).

Using APC SNMP Device Configuration feature we've programmed some users cards but currently we need to remove some of them and add another. Adding ne cards works  but ... the we can't remove unnecessary ones using DCE, works only manually on each NBRK unit separately ... and this is Sisyphean work 😞

Checking results upon Incomplete Configuration we found all users intended to delete as unchanged.

We've tried also upload modified config.ini, but without success ... users still unchanged.

Could you please suggest solution?

NBRK FW 7.0.4/7.0.6

Thank you in  advance,

Slavek

Hi @Slavek_13,

From my experience it is best to push out a blanking template to clear all rack access user config and then immediately follow up with pushing the new configuration.  The NetBotz 250 will not allow 2 slots to have the same user/card.  So when the NetBotz 250 processes the first removal, it shifts all of the entries up in the table and now things are misaligned and the next changes can't take affect as the user can not be present in 2 slots.  This may have changed since I had experience with this, but pushing out a template to remove all rack access users and then pushing out the modified template worked for me in the past.

Please contact support if you are experiencing issues with doing mass configuration of rack access users still after trying the above.

Regards,

Cory
