Is there a way to optimize Portal? Currently Tomcat7 is using 1,373,000k of memory which is bogging down my server. I find it hard to believe it needs that to process two pages of data in Portal.
What can I do to turn off unused features? and/or reduce the memory usage.
Regards,
J

Hi John,
Currently there are no official supported way to optimize the Portal.
I see your point when seeing this as only displaying 2 pages. However the Portal is currently configured to do way more than that and therefore the configuration must support that.
I will track the feature disabling providing lower memory footprint as an enhancement request in our system.
As it is based on standard Liferay installation I'm not sure if you can find other solutions out there on how to lower the memory usage in your specific setup?

I will check the LifeRay pages to see if I can disable the Amazon Plugin, the Loan calculator, and shopping portlets (etc) which seem useless to me when I just want to display the data from the StruxureWare Products. Thanks for the response. J
