PDPM138H-5U doesn,t have breaker option

We are facing one issue in DCO, Customer is having PDPM138H-5U (APC rack mounted distribution panel) fitted in one of the rack, where it supplies the power to the rack pdu installed in same rack as well as other rack pdu in different rack. When we add this device as per its model name from gnome we could see that it has only power option but cannot add breaker in it. Due to this issue we could no power other device from it.Please suggest

the solution as customer doesn't want any temporary solution.

There is no solution for it as PDPM has to provide breaker option than only other devices physically connected to it can be resolved.

Hi Atul,

There is a question and answer already in the community

Currently, modeling 5U RDPs in StruxureWare Data Center Operation is not supported. You can get around this by following the below workaround.

Workaround:

  1. Use PDPM138H-5U or create a customized 5U RDP from a generic component in Genomes.
  2. Add the 5U RDP to a rack to indicate that the U-space is occupied.
  3. Create a fake floor-mount power panel in Genomes in the same way as the RDP.
Make sure you configure the power distribution attributes.
  4. Place the power panel in the floor layout, for example just behind the rack in which it is positioned in the real data center.
  5. Connect the fake power panel to the rack PDUs to model the power path.

Note: The fake object will be visible in the 3D view and inventory report.

As a curiosity the PDPM138H-5U thinks (in DCO model terms) that it is a rack mount PDU with only one power outlet ...

Dear Atul,

This is a notified finding. Presently PDPM138H can only be modeled but cannot provide any further power distribution.
