Hi guys,
I would like to confirm if Netbotz alarms (3xx,4xx,5xx series) will appear in DCE instantly or will there be a default delay I should expect.
I have done some tests with DCE monitoring Netbotz 570.
Netbotz has couple of NBPD0170s on an A-Link.
When door open alarm is picked up by Netbotz this alarm will not appear in DCE until the next DCE poll (confirmed multiple times via tests).
I have been reading manuals and also came across this link Post Alert Data Settings option that makes me believe Netbotz alerts should appear in DCE almost instantly if Post Alert settings are done correctly.
I need to go back and verify if my Netbotz has this configured correctly (I did not change it and I relied on automatic configuration during discovery process).
Can you please confirm if Netbotz alarms will appear almost instantly in DCE? or will it be on the next DCE poll?

Hi Marcis,
The NetBotz appliance should post to DCE almost immediately. If it is not, take a look at the "Data Center Expert" applet in Advanced View. Is this set to post to DCE using IP or name? If it is set to name, there could be a DNS issue. Make sure the appliance can ping the DCE server by name. If it can not, even with the correct DNS, delete the entry with the name.
Next, go to device, NetBotz appliance configuration, post alert data settings. Where it says "Select the Address to Use for Sending Alert Data", select the IP of the server instead of the name and click OK. This should recreate the entry in the NetBotz appliance by IP.
If the appliance was already posting to IP, check the logs on the bot. Create an alert and immediately afterwards, go to the unit's web page and look at http://
Here, you can do things like ping and you can also hit logread to read the events. Are you getting any errors posting to the DCE server? If there is a router / firewall between the DCE and NetBotz appliance, your posts could be blocked.

Dear Lukasz
I have done some testing with Netbotz 200 and door sensors and came to following conclusion:
In the case if Initial Netbotz unit configuration(latest firmware, thresholds configuration, trap receiver, event action) + Data Center Expert Configuration(network configuration, thresholds and alarms) have been performed accordingly, Data Center expert shows an alarm in the application in about 3-7 seconds. The difference in the range of secs is down to the overall network settings in user premises.

Thanks Marcis,
I should have been more specific I guess...Netbotz 200 is our ex ex Environmental Monitor and while it is called Netbotz, the name is all it has in common with Netbotz range 😀.
I am updating my question now.

Thank you Steven, I suspect DNS name has been written into Netbotz Post configuration during the DCE discovery process so I will need to have a look on my next visit and change it to IP only. It is good to know that alarms should come through almost instantly. Thanks again.
