I was working on netbotz 570 and for no reason it came up with alarm ''the device is offline due to timeout or connection error'' I therefore reboot the appliance by powering off the ac power and still it did not solve the problem .I couldn't even see the appliance in advance view I then unplug the network cable and try to go into the device using a console cable (putty) but still it didn't allow me to use user password or default password ( apc apc)I also tried to press the reset button for 10 sec

Simbarashe,
The default console credentials for the NetBotz 570 appliance would be root/apc. The default credentials to log into the web interface or Advanced View would be apc/apc.
1) Are you able to ping the appliance using a command prompt?
2) Can you access the web interface of the NetBotz appliance by going to: http://netbotzipaddress (may also be https)?
3) What changes did you make to the appliance right before it went offline?
Once you are connected serially, you can verify the networking settings to ensure that they are correct. If they are correct and you are still having a problem connecting to the appliance, please create a local connection between your computer and the NetBotz appliance. This will ensure that there are not any networking related problems as the two systems will be directly linked using an Ethernet cable. You can then try to ping the appliance again to see if it is communicating. If it is communicating, try logging into Advanced View.
Best Regards,
Cory

Simbarashe, Upon reboot, the NetBotz appliance clears the log. The system would need to be connected to a syslog server to store log information. 1) How many rack access pod (NBPD0170) do you have connected to the appliance? 2) Do any of them have an external power source? This would be a power source other than A-link power from the main appliance. Try disconnecting all external Sensor PODs (connected via A-link) from the appliance to see if the main appliance starts to respond. Best Regards, Cory

Hello Cory McDonald
I am currently having this issue. I've tried all of the above an still no resolve.
I can ping using the DCE's network tools.
Netbotz 4.5.3 and DCE 7.4.1.
I have a communication issue with one of my netbotz devices (no a link)
The device is connected to an APC switch then to DCE 7.4.1. The change made before this error was update the time on DCE.
