We pulled values from the DCO for customer's power metering (Kwh) but on comparing the values with that of the DCE which is the raw value ,there was a huge discrepancy, what could be the issue(s) and what are ways to correct this.?. thanks

Hi Kehinde,
Thanks for posting. Please give me a chance to improve your understanding about the tool.
We promote DCO as a planning tool & DCE as a monitoring tool. If the client wants to refer to the real time data, DCE is the tool for him. But if he wants to plan something in his data center, such as addition of a server or movement of an asset, then relying barely on the Real time information from the equipment would be insufficient.
To improve this judgement, DCO does Averaging & Peaking of the data for a period at least over 30 days to arrive at the Trend nature of any devices so that maximum information can be obtained from them in order to plan a change.
For example, if you are planning to add a server to a rack & you refer to the present values of the Rack PDUs, without having an insight into the trends of the equipment, you might remain unaware of any Peaks or Sags happened to than Rack in terms of power in the past, which would make the installation vulnerable to such peaks or any similar conditions.
DCO makes the user consider the past data as well for any changes in the environment in order to take care of such vulnerabilities.
Thanks.
I hope this explains the situation. Please write us for more queries.

Hi Kehinde,
Would it be possible to share some screen captures and description illustrating the issue and showing how the data is being compared.
As you know, DCO is retrieving the measurements from DCE, the "Average" and "Peak" values (in kW) would be displayed on DCO. The measured power peak is the peak value occurring within a period specified by the user (eg. 30 days default) and the measured power average is the usual average value over this period, eg. 30 days.
I guess a) either you need to verify the comparing time (the time interval, that is being used for comparing the data on DCO and DCE)
b) or perhaps the measurements are not being reported correctly to DCO, if so, we can investigate it off-line, thanks.
Kind regards

Hi Jeff,
Really appreciate your prompt response.Let me shed more light. From the DCO calculated for the customer, the Usage was 11,465.04 kwh while adjusted value is 22,930.08 kwh (Power factor of 2). The DCE value was calculated thus-end of August value -End of July value and this was equal to 1266.7Kwh.We were using this DCE raw value for some months to bill customer when the DCO was down. So, when the DCO was restored, and calculated for August, we noticed the huge difference, hence the concern and the question. We have finally resolved in using the DCE to do the billing going forward thereby rendering the DCO almost useless

Hi Kehinde, Many thanks for taking the time and adding more explanation. Apparently something is not working correctly. As mentioned DCO is retrieving the measurements from DCE, and there should not be so huge difference between the numbers. I believe a detail investigation might be needed, I can contact you directly (by email) if it's okay with you.
