Netbotz 200 Connection to Cisco 2248TP

Hello All,

Has anyone seen any issues connecting the Netbotz 200 with a Cisco 2248tp?

We have several Netbotz 200 and are struggling to get a consistent connection to a variety of Cisco 2248TP Fabric Extenders.

Some will connect straight away, some will only  sync up when we force 100 Full-duplex, some will become 100 Half-Duplex and various other combinations.

Symptom is that the link light on the 2248TP does not come on and  the NB200 (via Serial console) says Link Down).  Plugging in to a different device the link light on the FEX works, taking the NB200 to another FEX may or may not work.  Taking a working NB200 and plugging a different NB200 (same FW) wont work.

Very confused.

The FW on the Nb200 are all the same at ...

NB200: v3.7.5

AOS: v3.7.5

Yes - I have had issues with a NB 450 and Symmetra ups connecting to FEX modules. Checked/tried everything. Thinking nexus bug. Ended up connecting to a catalyst with no issues.

I believe this is a known issue between NMC1 products and Nexus switches, where the NMC will continually fail to negotiate to 100/F no matter what switch port or NMC setting is used. We see this issue on literally hundreds of devices, and have had to resort to placing NMC1 devices on 48-port unmanaged switch/hubs that can deal with 10/H and 100/H just to get comms consistency.

Dear Craig Oberg

                  Verify Following steps.

1. Please Disconnect the Device NB200 from the Cisco 2248TP and now Connect the NB200 via Ethernet cable [Straight Configuration] to your PC.
2.  Check the Speed of your Device just like the snapshot below 
3. as the Snapshot brief that your connect speed is 1.0 Gbps .
4. same while now connect your PC with the Port on the Cisco 2248TP and check the same that whether it is same as your device or it is varied...
5. But Note that you have not to assign your device or PC a static IP .... it will have to find automatically. as screen shot.
   
6. Now if the speed is Varied from each other then connect the networking team they will set your port speed and you also have to set your Netbotz 200 to following snapshot setting.
