Need help configuration new StruxureWare Expert 7.2.7

Asking on behalf of Gordon:

Need help initial configuration of StruxureWare for public/private interfaces on a single non private network.

Unsure of which of the ports (1,2) when APC Rack PDU's will have public IPAddresses. Plugged into Private couldn't connect to server. Connected to Public Port 1 and can connect and manage APC StrucxWare server but server cannot discover any APC PDU's using same subnet as server.

Using APC8941 and APC 8965 PDUs and can Telnet/FTP/SSH to them so connectivity is working.

Thanks!

Hi Stine Hansen,

If Gordon use only one public subnet, then:

  • configure NIC1 (public) on DCE server with public IP;
  • configure single NIC on APC RPDU with public IP from the same subnet;
  • discover APC RPDU from DCE server, having specified or the public IP address RPDU or a public subnet entirely.

With best regards.

Please find the instructions to configure an IP Address for DCE Server.

 Connecting a computer to the second network interface (GB2) on your server will provide you with a DHCP address. You will need to use a crossover cable.

The default gateway is the private IP address of your server(192.168.16.1 or 192.168.1.1).

 You will be able to navigate to this IP address in a web browser, download the client and apply any configuration changes you would like. Network settings in the client can be found under System->Server Administration Settings->Network Settings.

Assign the Public LAN IP Address, and then connect the GB1 port to the user network to access the DCE application on the Public LAN network.

DCE device discovery video and other useful videos on DCE can be found on the below link:
