The current situation
The connection between two IT servers installed in separate cabinets is using by MTP-MPO multi-core cable of 16-fiber optical, this type of cable is considered a single braid / cable
The connection of the servers to the panels is done using ordinary bridging cables.
When our client wont to remove a server using a work order, the work order indicates that the two bridging cables must be removed . And remove the cable connecting the 2 cabinets.
This is not true because the cable is MTP / MBO
The question is how best to view the MTP-MTP cable in the DCIM system?

Hi Yaron,
If I understand correctly, you have configured network cable types and connections that you would like to view in DCO, right? If yes, please try the "Network Cable Browser":
Kind regards

Hello
tnx
How many ports does the cable have?
You're probably setting up one cable
In practice, this cable has 6 ports
So the display looks 6 cables rather than one as you are viewing
In this case when you want to cancel a cable you cancel one of the 6 cables that are set

Hi Yaron,
I understand what you mean, that's unfortunately not supported in DCO. Currently in DCO, cable/connection has one port on each end.
Kind regards

When will you catch up with IT Infrastructure? This type of cabling has been available and in use for several years.

You are using MTP/MBO and break out cables - correct ?
Where strands 1/2 are used for 1 port while 3/4 are used for another and could be on another server, and so on.... so retiring a server with a link on this bundle only retires the specific pair that is in use. Is that correct ?
If so, did Struxureware allow you to identify the pair you were using?
if it did, I'd be surprised if it was making you remove the whole cable....
if it didn't, then its a case of struxureware not understanding how MTP breakout is used.
