Hi,
We have been made aware that some users have made changes to their genomes, but at some point they have returned to the original make and model. As the changes are made in the personal genome library, upgrades should no override any saved changes?
Thanks in advance

Hi Amanda,
In upgrading a DCO to higher version, the master catalog/Genome Library would be updated and not the global library/Genomes.
However, if you need this to be investigated, then please provide the following data:
1. DCO backup file just before the upgrade
I will send you an invite to my =S= box shortly, so the data safely can be shared with me, thanks.
Kind regards

Thanks Jef, we are in the process of collecting the required information to send over to you for further investigation.

Hi Jef,
DCO was upgraded from 8.2.12 to 8.3.2 but my understanding is that this wasn't necessarily linked to an upgrade - rather that it had been noticed at random times.
I am however in the process of trying to source the pre-upgrade backup file from the customer although not sure they will still have it (upgrade was almost 2 months ago) and I can of course get a current backup without too much trouble.
We have also requested details of the affected genomes.
Regards

Hi Mark,
Many thanks for the the info. If it is not an upgrade related issue, then apparently user related, eg. user(s) might have done the changes (such as deleting the customized Genomes item(s) and then reading the item(s) from the Genome Library). However, if you feel this is a software related issue, then I would need to have your/customers "how to reproduce" plus the relevant data.
Kind regards

Hi Jef,
I am still trying to source a pre-upgrade backup file however I feel it is unlikely that we will be able to get hold of this now.
The issues reported to us have happened on seemingly random occasions and we have been advised that they were not due to additional genomes being added or edited ones being deleted.
Have you still not had any other reports of issues of this nature?
I'm not sure what to try and obtain from the customer in order to aid such an unusual investigation - what would be best for me to try and obtain?
Regards

Hi Mark,
I do not recall similar issue being reported to me before. Overwriting/modifying items in Genomes is usually user related (eg. modified by user). If we don't get any data/instructions to reproduce the "issue", then I'm afraid we can't do much.
Kind regards
