I am currently running DCO 7.5 and IT Optimize 7.4, I am looking to upgrade to version 8.x and have a few questions.

Existing ITO installers can be run on Windows 2012 and 2012 R2 if you run the installer from the windows command line and add "–check_os_supported no" when executed.
We are testing an ITO update which will install on Windows 2012, 2012 R2 and 2016 without the "unsupported message" and includes and updated java runtime and some hardened web server security.
The currently released ITO versions which are compatible with DCO 8.x include an older java runtime. ITO does not use the java installed in the OS, the java runtime is imbedded in the ITO installation folder (under the java subfolder). This usually means other windows apps do not see this java installation.
Once the ITO update is released the system requirements on the documentation pages will be updated.

Dear Jeff Gunby,
Let me add Greg Sterling answer, since I guess that your security team will have several questions, just like it was in topic .
Does IT Optimize 8.x use Java? If so, what version and can it be upgraded?
The latest version of SxW Data Center IT Optimize Server 7.5.2 software itself uses Apache Tomcat Server 6.0.18 with preinstalled Java Version 6 Update 31 (1.6.0_31-b05).
In addition, during the installation of this Schneider Electric software, Intel DCM software is installed, which itself uses Apache Tomcat Server 6.0.35 with preinstalled Java Version 7 Update 25 (1.7.0_25-b17).
All of the above 3rd party software according to the information on the official website https://tomcat.apache.org/whichversion.html is already archived.
I have noticed that the recommended server for IT Optimize is Windows Server 2008 but that it can be run on Windows Server 2012. If I install IT Optimize on a Windows Server 2012 will it be supported?
I can confirm that I have been successfully working with SxW Data Center IT Optimize Server 7.5.2 (this is latest x64 for Windows) for about two years on the basis of VMware virtual machine in the configuration:
OS: MS Windows Server 2016 x64 (without GUI, i.e. Core)
CPU: 4x vCPU 2.67GHz
Memory: 6GB
Storage: 25GB
For my tasks this configuration completely satisfies and works well.
With respect.
