I have a manager asking me if he can load the DCE client on his Mac laptop. Does it exist? I cannot see one to download only the windows/linux clients.

Currently there is not a MAC client. He of course can still use the Web interface but the power user ability the client is not yet available for the MACs. I have heard that potentially in the next jump in DCE (8.0?) will be fully cross platform.

Michael's right in that with 8.0, the user interface will be web based so it will be platform independent. Steve

Thanks both - I am going to ask ... only because my user will do the same. Is there a 'ballpark' time for 8.0's release?

I believe the unofficial timeframe is late Q3 early Q4 but I have no exact dates.

The info I had been given was early Q4 and again no firm dates as I am just an end user who recently upgraded to DCE 7.2.7 and DCO 7.5.0

Unfortunately is is very unlikely that we'll see DCE 8.0 this year.

This is an old post - is there an update on Mac client? DCE 8.0?
Thanks.

Hi Mike,
Sorry no. There is still no plan to create a 7.x Mac client and I have no information on a potential ETA of the next major revision.

2 years later, and I'll ask the same thing.... 😉
Any update on expected 8.0 power user web interface, or a MacOS client? We too have users that use Mac machines primarily and need to jump to a different machine in order to access DCE system settings.
It looks like the StruxureWare Data Center Operation has a Mac OS X client (now?), so wondering if that was still in the works here...

I just saw a popup for monitoring via iOS in this new EcoStruxureIT environment (I believe - about to go check that out), so that is helpful, but definitely hopeful for more on that front.

I would recommend checking out EcoStruxure IT Expert, the next generation monitoring solution where all UI is available in HTML5 and runs in any web browser - including Safari (and others) on Macs.

Whoa! So is EcoStruxure IT Expert 8.0 the ultimate replacement for DCE 7.x ? I just called technical support for DCE to ask that question, since I just talked to them recently to get 7.6.0 through our maintenance agreement...
I got a bit of a wishy-washy answer. At the very least, it sounds like from talking to them that our existing DCE software maintenance agreement does not cover going to Eco IT Expert, so that will maybe have to be purchased. I was just talking to our local APC/S.E. rep and he's looking into the money aspect of it for me.
