Goodafternoon,
It is Marco Gotelli from Deloitte Consulting.
We wanted to reach you out because we have to satisfy a connectivity requirement in order to bring data about energy consumption from Data Center Expert to our system for energy consumption analysis.
The goal of our activity is to interrogate Data Center Expert remotely and get automatically data about energy consumption about each installed UPS every 15 minutes.
We would like to kindly ask you if it possible to access the Data Center Expert database remotely or use an API to get these data.
We wish to hear from you soon,
Best regards

direct access to the DCE database is not supported. However you can access the DCE web services api, documentation can be found here: https://sxwhelpcenter.ecostruxureit.com/display/public/DCIMDEVELOPER/StruxureWare+Data+Center+Expert...

Hi Andrew, I would like to ask you if it is possible to have credentials to test the API response without any risk of mess up the system while running.
We wish to hear from you soon,
Best regards

as far as I know, our web services api is read only, so there isn't any risk of messing up the system. Your customer should be able to provide with a user account on their DCE system for testing. The only requirement should be "view access" for the device group(s) they want to monitor.
