Is ITO able to discovery OpenStack devices? If so what protocols should be used?

James
As far as I know there is no formal support for discovery of openstack devices. However, ITO discovery is focused on the host operating system, so if the openstack device is actually running a flavor of linux/unix (as many hypervisors do), then discovery may be possible with SSH (and SNMP for polling), or use of one of the "viriditylisthw" scripts included on the ITO server in the "C:\Program Files\SchneiderElectric\ITOptimize\bin\scripts" folder. Does the Openstack device have a OS you can logon to, with a user account? Is it linux based?

Greg Sterling I believe the OpenStack device uses SSH keys rather than username and password. Is there any way to discovery a device using keys? Looking at the options on server discoveries there doesn't seem to be.

ITO is not designed to work with SSH keys so I doubt it will work. ITO will try to complete the connection to the target host using a username/password authentication so even if keys are in-place a logon will be attempted. Do the openstack devices respond to SNMP? If yes, we may be able to create a DDF for these devices in a future ITO release (when ITO is ported into Data Center Expert). Regards Greg Sterling
