IP Address Of Discovered Nodes

This question was originally posted on DCIM Support by Todd Walters on 2019-01-23

It was advertised in DCE 7.6.0 that you can now change the IP of a discovered device w/o losing any data.  Does anyone know how to accomplish this?  I tried changing the IP on the network card interface, but had to rescan for the device and start over.

Hi Todd,

After you change the IP on the card itself, you must then go to the SNMP Device Scan settings for that device and change the IP listed there:

You should not have to rediscover the device. This is new to 7.6 and I've tested myself with no issue.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks, Steven Marchetti!

Todd Walters, I added a page to the documentation for this. Change the IP address of a discovered device

Thanks for helping us improve!
