I have a number of cabinets that have sealed back doors and exhaust chimneys.
These particular exhaust chimneys are powered and metered. They are being monitored in DCE.
These are "OpenGate" EC30 and Geist "ActiveAir" (OpenGate was acquired by Geist, so it is much the same thing)
These units record the return air temperature in the chimney, the CFM, the % load on the chimney fan system, the humidity, external temperature, etc
Obviously, DCO needs to have these associated with the cabinets - so that it can properly interpret the information.
However, I do not see ANY chimney system in the genome library, unless I am not searching under the wrong key words. As these sit atop the cabinet, and pull air directly out of hte room and into the plenum, the tool must understand the purpose and use of the object for it to be utilized, I can't just create my own object.
These Chimney systems are hardly new. Some of the ones we're using have been in place for more than 5 years, but less than 10.
Can someone point me to the instructions on how to set this up?
Thank you

The chimney system is not part of the genome library - it is a setting on the rack itself.
If you select "Duct to ceiling:" in the rack properties, the rack will build a chimney on top of itself.
The chimney is not an object and you will not be able to associate device measurements to the chimney - only to the rack.
From Tips and tricks for configuring cooling:
When using the duct-to-ceiling feature please make sure that you balance the airflow. The amount of airflow coming from the ducted racks should be similar to the amount of airflow to the ducted cooling units. If there is a large unbalance the air will leak in or out from the ceiling. This is handled by the cooling calculator, but the results can be difficult to interpret.
One indication that the calculations encounter an under-pressure in the ducted ceiling is that the Cooling Load on the cooling units is very low.
Good luck!

Ok, that explains that - but the numbers don't match the calculations shown in the manual
1. against name plate
2. against the real power drawn - which is a known value in DCO
3. against the real CFM drawn by the chimneys - which is a known value in DCE
How do I associate the exhaust fan?
1. these are not new pieces of equipment
2. DCE has the information
Realistically, DCO should be integrated with DCE and pick up the information - It should be a matter of the user deciding to use the DCE objects or not in DCO - just a check box for every item in DCE - we might as well be buying 2 different tools from 2 different companies almost.
