Started upgrade, file uploaded but nothing now for 15 minutes. How can I check status? How do I know if it is working? It has not rebooted yet.

Hi Scott, Can you please describe what you have done, so I can follow your upgrade steps. And you are upgrading from which version? to which version? Do you by chance have some screen capture(s) from the Upgrade page (illustrating the notifications, error messages, etc.), thanks Kind regards

So, I ended up calling support last night to work these issues out. Numerous things happened that caused issues and none of them are fully known at this time. Here is what happened though. I started by uploading Webmin. All went fine. Then I pointed to the downloaded file for the 7.5 upgrade on my local system. I entered the checksum data and off it went. After the file copy was complete the upgrade screen went blank. No activity. Checked other logs and still no activity or even anything to acknowledge an upgrade was in process. Called support, talked with Mathew. After checking some things we decided to reboot. Reboot happened and Webmin was available but Ops manager never recovered. We tried to upload the file manually to the /tmp folder but after what seemed like a successful file copy there was no file showing in the directory. I let the server sit for about 30 minutes to see if anything happened. I know Ops can be slow and cumbersome so maybe it just was doing something in the background. After the 30 minutes were up I restarted the server again. All services started as normal and all was back to the original state. I tried manually uploading the file again to the /tmp directory but again the file didn't show up after the copy was completed. Maybe a permissions issue? Who knows. I downloaded a fresh version of the file from the APC site and used an external MD5 utility to verify the file before moving on. File checked out so I once again started the upgrade process form the beginning, pointing to the local stored file on my workstation. This second attempt was spotless and all worked as required. The upgrade processed. It was visible in the upgrade window and it was all done in less than 30 minutes. So, long story short... its all fine now. No idea what was up. I would say that maybe a suggestion to add to the directions for upgrading is to do a fresh restart of the server before beginning the upgrades. They server had been up for 199 days, which isn't really a long time but you never know what might have been happening in the background that helped to contribute to the systems failed processing of the first upgrade attempt. Also, this is a virtual machine that we are running. Dual processors assigned and 16GB RAM. 80GB disk at 59% space utilization.
