Hi Russell,
In following example I have configured two patch panels (I'm using DCO 8.0): one with "QSFP" and the other with "SFP" network ports:
by right clicking on device > Properties > Network,
"New..." and then Name it as "QSFP" and select Type as "Fiber":
Similar configuration for the other device:
Additional to those devices (patch panels) I do also have a switch unit with both "QSFP" and "SFP" configuration.
As illustrated, by using the "Connection tool" I can easily make a network connection between all three devices:
