How can DCE monitor the daily backup of DCO?

Is there any way to have DCE send an alert if the backup on DCO is failing?

I think I could work out a script (cron job) on the DCO that could monitor if the daily backup file is created. But how could that information be sent/transmitted to DCE?

We recently (7.4, I think) implementented that DCO would send a warning to DCE if the latest backup has failed.

At the same time, we also implemented the option (selectable in webmin) the backup could fail if the backup location was not mounted on a remote server. This option defaults to off, but can be enabled if it suits the customer.

Is there something that must be enabled in order for DCO to send a warning to DCE? I can't see anything in the DCO servers sensors in DCE regarding backup ...

It should show up as an error in the "general status" sensor (code 5). to test it, you need to make the backup fail (it will not warn if there is simply no backup yet).

I have investigated this issue further, and have determined that there is a bug in the ddf file that is currently published on EcoStruxure IT Help Center. I am currently testing a fix, and I expect to upload it tomorrow.

The issue, is that the fourth sensor, which should report this data is missing.

All sensors, including the fourth, are described here:  "General and essential services (OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.2.2.1.4.0)".
