When I try to connect to an HP OneView system by adding it to Data Center Operation (v8.2.2) I receive an error that says, "External System returned an Error". How do I troubleshoot this issue further? Is there a log that will have more details or a procedure I should try to narrow this down?

Hello Robert. When you added the oneview server did this message appear when you clicked the "test" button in the external systems defintion? If yes, if you return to that window and click test again, does the error repeat?
Which version of OneView are you trying to access?
Regarding the user account used for the connection of DCO to oneview, what level of access in oneview does that user account have?

Yes, this error happens when I press the test button. It does repeat each time I press test. I've discovered via the HP OneView web interface that trying to login directly gives me an error that shows invalid username/password combination. So we're currently working on getting that fixed. Hopefully that is all that is wrong. I'll report back either way...

Hello Greg,
I've managed to resolve the credential issues and can login directly via a web browser. But I can't can any further after clicking the test button like before. The account I'm using is a "Local" account to the OneView system. How do I specify the domain in the DCO dialog? I've tried "Username", "Local\Username", and "Username@Local", but no dice.

Hi Rob,
The integration is limited to HP OneView local user, and as mentioned in the following page: HP OneView integration , user must be HP Oneview administrator.
Kind regards
