Hi
We recently purchased and installed EMC VMAX 450 All FLASH in two APC racks. I found the VMAX 450F Template in Genome but it is a full rack while we have divided it in two APC racks. Is there any updated template or a way to edit the original template in Genome?
We also installed the Arista switches with following Models and I could not find any Genome for them.
Arista 7150S-52
Arista 7050SX2-128
Arista 7050SX2-72Q
Arista 7050QX-32S
Any idea when Arista Genome will be available?
Thanks
Imran

Hi Imran,
You can customize your "half size" EMC VMAX 450F unit in your Genomes, as illustrated I have added "EMC VMAX 450F" to my Genomes and then changed it physical properties and saved as "EMC ....-halfsize":
For your new devices/ Arista models, you might want to post your request here: https://dcimsupport.apc.com/devices
Then the Device Support team can include those items to Genome Updates plans.
As a current workaround, you might want to customize a similar device (from Genome Library), thanks.
Kind regards
---
updating my answer,
Actually there is no "EMC VMAX 450" unit in the Genome Library, this can also be requested from "Device Support team".
My answer/illustration is for EMC VMAX 450F

To customize a rack mountable equipment (server, storage, etc.) we can either select a similar device or as illustrated add a generic server (to Genomes) and then change its properties settings (Physical, Power, etc.) and save it as a customized device:

Hello Imran,
I work for the genome team. I have added and processed 4 Arista genomes requested by you into the genome system. You can use those devices after downloading the new Genome file which will be released on next month first week.

Hi Thejaswi
Kindly also add EMC VMAX 450 All FLASH as Equipment so I can install it in two APC racks. Current Genome for EMC VMAX 450 All FLASH is a full rack device and can not be installed inside the APC rack.
Best regards
Imran

Hi Imran,
I would add that for you. In order to do so, I have a problem. As you have mentioned the single Flash device is placed in two racks, I am unable to identify the exact height of the each of them. In user manual or in google, I am unable to find that info.
PS: As per my research I don't see any device with the name EMC VMAX 450 All FLASH. The name should be MC VMAX 450F All FLASH. Please look into this once.

Hi Thejaswi
I just checked with my Storage administrator and he confirmed that the correct device model is EMC VMAX 450F All FLASH.
Kindly add it into Genome.
Thanks

Hi Imran,
Thank you for the update. The EMC 450F VMAX ALL FLASH is already present in the genome system. But the specifications what we have is of the complete unit.
But I am unable to find out the exact power consumption and the height of the single device when its divided into two parts and placed in a separate racks. No where in the user manual, I am finding any info for it.
Can you please cross check and help me on this?
Thanks

Hello Imran,
Thank you for your patience . The details provided by you helps me to understand the Height, width and Depth of your device. Unfortunately, I am not able to find or calculate the details of Weight and Power consumption of each device that you have configured in rack.
Also, I can't put the approximate or assumed values since the power and the weight are mandatory fields.
Hence I request you to follow the Jeff's suggestion for your configuration which will be suitable at this point.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Thejaswi
The current Genome for EMC VMAX 450F is a full rack (G) which can not be divided into two. If you can create a same Genome with (E) attributes (which can be divided into parts) than I will use it and divide into two racks by myself.

Hello Imran,
I am afraid to say, I wont be getting the exact details of power consumption and Weight values to enter in the system when the device is not used as a whole unit. Also we can't create customized genomes since it might vary as per individual customer requirement. You can customize the genome by your self as suggested by Jef Faridi.
I am afraid to say that is the only option as of now.

Hi Thejaswi
I think I could not explain you my concern in my last message.
As suggested by Jef Faridi I can modify the Genome Height and Weight etc but the genome core attribute/property (that it is a main unit and can not be fit in the rack like other server/hardware) I can not change.
Kindly just create a copy of EMC VMAX 450F with only difference with original that it can fit inside the rack and show the word E in genome icon instead of G.
I hope this time you understand my concern.
Regards
Imran
