DCE 7.4.1 upgrade fail

I am upgrading DCE 7.4.1 from 7.3.1 and the upgrade hangs up on the DCE webpage waiting for the server to respond. This is a VM.

Looking in the log it seems the error says "No Space left on device" however there is 150GB of free space on the harddrive.

Any ideas?

Hi John,

How many hard drives have been associated with this VM? If you have increased the size of the default drive, that is your issue. You can not increase the default drive's size. Even if it looks like it was increased, DCE will still see only the default size and you must add a second drive.

K-base FA290375 notes this issue. Let us know if there is still an issue after verifying this.

Additionally, did you know that you can upgrade from 7.3.1 to 7.4.3? I was wondering why you specifically went to 7.4.1 instead.

Because company policy is to vet the software first to make sure it doesn't break anything when installed and 7.4.3 isn't vetted yet. Otherwise I would love too.

An interesting problem, perhaps similar to the problem of DCE 7.4.1 restart "Error closing file %s: No space left on device".

Q1: How much vhdd is used in the DCE-server VM and what is their size according to the VMware configuration?

Q2: Which log you watched that claim that there is enough space?
