FTP to SCP issue
Dear Team,
We have a customer who recently disabled all FTP port 21 communication and advised to use SCP.
I have enabled SSH/SCP on 2 x Symmetra PX 500 AP9635 cards but on rediscovering on DCE they are discovered but remain on initializing state eventually doesn't load the sensors
In this state I can still launch the UPS on DCE using HTTPS.
Could the units not be communicating properly with DCE through SSH/SCP port 22, the behaviour is like they can't load DDF which is already pre installed.
A device in a state of initializing indicates that the DCE is taking a long time to obtain SNMP info. You may still have issues with SCP if there's a DDF error but that DDF won't stop it from getting discovered.
I'm assuming you're using SNMP v3, have you triple-checked your credentials?
I'd suggest making sure DCE is up to date (didn't see a version).
I suggest going to the DCE web page and click the top link for "view status".
Then, under Additional Information: Click SNMP Device walk.
Can you walk the device in a timely manner or does it take a long time (with the same credentials) or even fail?
For a test, if you're able, can you try a discovery of the device using SNMP version 1?
If you check all of this and you're still having issues, perhaps you want to contact your local support team.
