Asking on behalf of H.B.:
How can I export in a file to be stored for archiving the configuration of each devices referenced into the DCE or into the DCO with only one command / button from the user interface. In case this feature is not currently enable, when it is possible to add it to the DCO / DCE client?

Hi Stine,
For DCE, there is a backup option. This option will backup the configuration for use if you need to re-deploy your DCE server. This is not a 1 click option. You must configure a share to store the configuration. The reason for this is that the configuration is on the server and not the client so it's not as easy as a single click export. You must go to system, server administration settings, server backup/restore. You must then add a backup and configure it and a target server appropriately. This backup can then be run on a schedule or on a single click.
You can also export saved discoveries. This does not export the list of devices found but you can import this into another DCE server so that you can run the same discoveries from the initial server. Simply right click a discovery and choose export. Select the discoveries to export and click export.

Hi H.B. (& Stine)
For DCO, you might want to try the feature "Export Table", that is described here: Exporting Equipment Browser table
and for DCE, try the "Export Device List":
(note : only backup files, both for DCO and DCE would contain full configuration of the setup!)
Kind regards

Thanks for the provided answers. However, it look likes I badly explained my need.
I am not interested with the backup of the DCE / DCO which is already performed through the tools.
However I am considering the discovered devices' individual configuration backup such as the PX, IRC, UPS ...
As I am lazy, I don't want to go through each individual device. Thus, where in DCE / DCO is located such feature?
Best regards,
H.B. a.k.a. Hervé Boyer

Hi Herve,
There is currently no option in DCE to export the device's configuration. If you need the files outside of DCE, there is an option on the devices themselves to export the config.ini using ftp.The issue there is that with 6.x firmware, this does not include user info.
From within DCE, you can create a template based on the configuration of the device and this basically does the same thing, it saves the configuration of the device on DCE. There is no option however to export it.
I can put something like this in as an enhancement request however I do not see something like this getting added to the system any time soon.

Hello, Thanks for the additional information. Yes please, consider as an enhancement request having an integrated tool into the DCE / DCO allowing to perform the configuration export of all (or partial) the devices configuration. From my point of view, it would also be great having a scheduling option to recurrently export the devices configuration (once a day / week / month). Thanks for the help and support. best regards, Hervé
