Either:

  1. Use DCE client, go to -->System/Server Admin/Network Settings

2.from console, login as apcsetup and password is apcsetup.

Select modify, and go thru the options. Hostname will be one of the option.

Either method WILL restart your DCE.

Muhammad,

It looks like from your picture that your IP addresses for the devices have not been setup in your network's DNS server.  When the IP address has not been registered in your networks DNS tables with their corresponding Hostname DCE will just list their IP address.

Also, after making the change it may take a period of time to pull the new hostnames into Data Center Expert.

Hi Muhammad,

Try changing the hostname using the console. If you log in with a monitor / keyboard on a physical server, through console on a VM, or through SSH on either should it be enabled, try using apcsetup for user name and password. You should be prompted for all the IP information and lastly for a hostname. I've seen instances where you may try to change it in the UI but it may fail and this should work.

Hi Kashif,

StruxureWare Data Center Expert will put the IP address of a device into the hostname field if it is unable to look-up the IP address of the device within your DNS server to obtain the hostname.  To correct the issue, please make sure that there are entries within your DNS server for the device. This may require both forward and reverse lookups. You can verify your DNS settings within StruxureWare Data Center Expert under: System > Server Administration Settings > Network Settings.

BR,

Rana Ajmal
