Hi Team,
One of our customer has integrated DCE to their OSS NMS where our DCE forward all alert traps to the NMS. This is to track and a repository for all alert history in their data center. Now the question is, if our DCE lost its communication to the network, will it re-send all alerts to their OSS that when the network communication had been restored.
Otherwise is there anyway we can check what alerts had not been send? and manually synchronize?
Thanks and regards,
Rayson

Hi Rayson,
E-mails may be resent if the target is unreachable. SNMP will not be resent if the target is unreachable. The reason for SNMP not re-sending is that it uses UDP and not TCP. UDP requires no connection / handshake between the 2 systems. The data is simply sent to the IP and receipt is not verified. Please remember also that you can set the system to repeat alarms until cleared.
