Device Status Critical

This question was originally posted on DCIM Support by Ed Krimmer on 2016-10-19

Installed DCE and have discovered one device (intentionally only one) - a UPS. It is functioning normally but the Status column shows "Critical" - I'm unable to determine what is causing this status

Hi Ed

What current and past alarms are showing in DCE?  What sensor values do you see?  When you login to the web page of the UPS, what do you see?

Ed.  You should have an Active Alarm window.  If this does not appear on your DCE, select Window -> Restore Default Screen Layout.  It will appear at the bottom of the screen.  Another alternative is to double click on the UPS, which will launch you to the network card on the UPS itself.  The home screen will also show the critical alarm.

you can also check the network cable which is connected from your ups network card to network switch such type error appear when communication lost .if you are using different network schemes then make sure that gateway path is clear .

Yep, the alarm window appeared after resetting the view. I didn't setup DDF and it doesn't like that. Thanks all!
