After upgrading to Data Center Expert 8.3.0.91 we get every wednesday at 18.30PM a lot of "Communication Lost" alarms. (strange!)
Mostly from PDU's (snmp) sometimes Modbus and complety random, which take about 30min and then everything is back to normal.
It looks like Device scanning is bugging because when i ping or do a snmp trap everything is fine...
Our network is OK, also in VMware nothing is happening..
I viewed the DCE logs but nothing is there. (please improve the logs view!)
Also can't view the Linux log files.
The logs are only spammed with this message:
Failed to register. Cannot enable service.

Hi,
I haven't seen this lost comm issue on any of my DCE 8.3 servers, but agree it's strange it happens at the same time every week.
Just out of curiosity, if you check the pdu event logs, do they show any errors, specifically around failed logins/unauthorized snmp access? I was wondering if you maybe there is security scan or possibly even DCE backups or other network congestion occurring at this time.
It might be difficult to troubleshoot this issue here, I'd recommend reaching out to technical support so they can investigate this issue and sending them the nbc.xml logs and/or capture logs.
The error message you mentioned is most likely related to DCE no longer being able to communicate with our Asset Advisor and IT Expert cloud services, which in the past could use DCE as a gateway, but now require a separate IT Expert gateway instead.

Thanks.
Reboot of the DCE server resolved the problem.
