Hi team,
we need to upgrade a customer from DCO 8.2.7 to the latest ITA version available. Is this the correct path?
Update directly DCO 8.2.7 to 8.3.8
Deploy a new virtual machine with ITA 9.3.9 and restore the backup from DCO 8.3.8
Thanks in advance.

Hello Javier
Change the name of the backup file to exclude the ( and ) characters and retry the restore.

Hi Javier,
Regarding upgrade from DCO 8.2.7 to 8.3.8:
if the server does have Internet access, then you might be able to upgrade directly to 8.3.8. Otherwise, eg. if there is no Internet access (or other CentOS related limitations, because it is outdated), a clean installation of 8.3.8 and then restoring the latest backup file (from 8.2.7) would be the option.
Regarding upgrade to ITA 9.3.x (9.3.9/9.3.10) from DCO 8.2.7:
for the time being, I have had no issues restoring a DCO 8.2.x/8.2.7 (or 8.3.x) backup file on ITA.
You might want to give it a try, most likely you will be able to restore 8.2.7 backup file on your ITA (9.3.9). Otherwise, you might need to go through the path you mentioned (DCO 8.2.7 -> (backup/restore) DCO 8.3.8 -> (backup/restore) ITA 9.3.9
Kind regards,
Jef

Thanks Jef, we will try to create a new VM with the latest ITA version and restore the backup from DCO 8.2.7. How can we get the latest version of ITA?

Hi Javier,
You're welcome, sounds fine, it's good idea to test it (using a test server) before applying on the production server.
Regarding the product updates, customers holding an active support contract should be able to use the self-service and get the product updates (if entitled) from the entitlement portal (https://ecostruxure-it-entitlements.se.com/csm).

Hi Jef,
I have tried with a new ITA 9.3.5 VM (the latest one that I have) and the restore from a backup of DCO 8.2.7 did not work. So I guess I should have to go through 8.3.8.
Thanks for your support
