Hi,
We are running DCO 7.5 and 1 day before experinced slowness and logon issues (Active Directory and local user as well). I decided to reboot server but after that the operation service was not started.
The webmin status page says "Application status is starting or non responding"
Essential services are not running on this node. Please reboot the node and monitor the status page. If the problem persists, contact support. (maintenance)
I also checked in console line with service operations status command but it says service is running. Tried to restart (stop and start) without any success.

Hi Mate,
I would basically check the system settings - at least 16 GB memory would be needed, more info available here: System Requirements
Or perhaps the local disc is full - it can be verified via server webmin > System Information. (would you mind to share a screen capture?)
Usually the old backup files and the possible upgrade files (if the system is upgraded) would occupy a considerable amount of the disc space. If that is the case, then I would suggest to move the "old backup files" (from /data/backup) and the possible upgrade files to somewhere else (such as network drive for safe keeping). After releasing space, ssh log in to the server and run the following command to clean up, and the reboot:
sudo su
service operations purge
reboot
Kind regards

Hi Jef,
Thank you for the quick response.
Let's go step by step: DCO server has 32 GB RAM 4 CPU and 550 GB hard drive and installed from StruxureWareDataCenterOperation-7.5.0.iso and updated with SP3, so it is a "clean" install. Database size is ~40MB at the moment so there is no resource problem in the system. Anyway it is a new system installation which is supported by APC engineer in January 2016.
I also run your suggested command but the problem still persist.
I will upload the log and backup files to Schneider box.

Hi Mate, Many thanks for the detailed description, really appreciated. I will send you an invite to my =S= box shortly if you would kindly share your files (backup & logs) with me, it would also be great if you could include screen capture from the webmin status page, thanks. Kind regards

Hi Mate, The shared backup file seems to be fine. But concerning the server logs, it seems there might have been connection timed out, so actually gathering logs files have not been successful (the shared logs-xxx.tar.gz contains no files, it is almost 1kb in size). If it is not possible to collect the server logs via webmin, I was wondering if you could try it directly via ssh: ssh log in to the DCO server sudo su Platform.pm collect-log-files /tmp That should generate the following server logs: /tmp/logs.tar.gz It would be great if this file could be shared with me, thanks. Kind regards

Hi Mate, Sorry, my bad. I should have mentioned that you need to enter your password after typing the "sudo su": sudo su (enter your password) and then type: Platform.pm collect-log-files /tmp Kind regards

Jef,
I rebooted the server to test again the manual log file gathering but it was not success. I manually stop and start the operations service and after that I was able to create the log file. Now it is 25 MB and uploaded to the same place. I hope that will be assessable.
Thanks

Hi Jef, I think I'm having this same issue when restoring from a PROD into Pre-PROD environment (restoring from one host into another). Can you provide a bit more detail on how you resolved this?
