Check the domain of your laptop and DCE server. I suspect that you need to specify the domain of the user, when computers are on different domains. Sorry, I can't verify my suggestion now.

I believe they are in the same domain since I'm running the DCE Virtual appliance on my laptop.

Hi Thabo,
Try using workgroup for the domain. Your laptop may have other domains listed and you can also try those. Are you certain it's NTLM version 2?Error 13 is permission denied. Did you specify that user has full read right access to the share specifically or did you just include "everyone"?
