When collecting data from multiple DCE servers via the Web Services API, are the unique IDs (e.g. device UUID) guaranteed to be unique between DCE servers? I.e. is it possible for 2 different devices monitored by different DCE Servers to have the same UUID?

Hi Ed,
Check the DCE public LAN MAC address, see if the last 6 digits are in the UUID?
If it is the MAC address, then it will be unique (at least for physical DCE), as MAC address itself is unique.

Chris

No problem, Ed. On that note, the DCE actually has unique ID as well when you pull from web services. If you are preparing web services for different customers/different DCEs, remove the unique portion for DCE IDs from your query or database. Found out -the hard way- when the custom report did not get data after deploying on actual DCE, as it has different Mac adress.
