Hello, DCIM community!
I have very similar question:
Which macro should I use, to get already defined alarm description?
E.g. "A problem has occurred in the communication between the agent and the UPS" as we can see in the screenshot:
Best regards,

Dear Janis Magazeinis,
You need to use this macro:
${ALERTDESC}
With respect.

Thank you for the fast answer!
Can you please or someone else tell me, if there is possibility to imitate the short message e-mail alarm with selected macros? I mean - not just to send test message by clicking "Alarm Configuration" -> "Manage Alarm Actions..." -> "Test...", but somehow imitating e.g. device alarms (as an example see screenshot attached) to see how the short message e-mail will really look like.
Best regards,
Janis Magazeinis

Dear Janis Magazeinis,
It is not possible to simulate a Device Alarm in the DCE software. This can only be done on the device side, but not always. Therefore, to simulate a short message with the above macro, I recommend creating a Threshold Configuration for device sensor. In Threshold Configuration, you can simply simulate an alarm and see how this macro works.
I was glad to answer the questions.
