Hi Guys,
We are having a problem restoring DCE using USB Flash restore. When we choose the option to boot from USB flash drive, it shows that "Boot Failed. Please ensure compatible bootable media is available,. Use the system setup program to change the boot mode as needed.."
Tried with 3 USB flash drive (range between 2-4Gb, with version 7.2.5, 7.2.0 and 7.2.1) but shows the same results.
We want to refresh the system as the system is loading very slow.
Any part we have missed? Thanks.

Dear Law, when you do manual boot under boot manager, used BIOS and dont used UEFI. from that configure the boot option under legacy hard disk with USB stick as a primary. Im facing the same issue as you when i chose UEFI boot but when i choose BIOS it was turn out okay. regards Syaharuddin

Hi,
How did you create the USB boot stick? Did you follow the instructions on the upgrade link for the bootable USB key? (screenshot below), or did you copy the ISO across to the USB? Please clarify?
Did you format the USB sticks before creating the bootable USB? We recommend a USB key disk of 4-8GB. Are these USB keys the same make and model?
Have you tried different USB ports?
You can also try an external CD-ROM and burn the DCE ISO unto a CD.
How old is the server? What model is it?
Did you try and run diagnostics to check the health of the server? There is a diagnostic tool that you can download from DELL to check if there is any faults on the server.
Is there any lights showing up on the server?
Regards,
Breda

Dear Breda, Yes, we created the USB stick following the instruction given (as in your screenshot). The ISO was inside the USB stick when we checked. All USB sticks are format during the USB key creation and with 4Gb space. They are different make and model. We have tried all available ports on the server, we even boot manually to the disk drive, but it shows no bootable file inside while in the BIOS stage. As we checked with our PC and try to boot with VM, all the USB sticks are bootable and working. We will try by using external CD-ROM later. We will gather other suggested method and feedback on this page later. The lights in front of the server is showing normal operation, no error code. Thank you

Syah, Yes, we are booting using UEFI, the USB flash disk option is there but the server is unable to track any bootable media inside, we even browse inside the flash disk inside the boot manager options. Thank you.
