Hi All,
I've just been speaking to Sel @ixdteg, they seem to be having some overall problems with device polling and one of the recommendations was to adjust the polling duration based on the time the server is taking. Is there any analytics within the product or anything which could be added to check how long the server is taking to complete its polling cycle?
I look forward to your response community
kind Regards

Hello Hiren,
Unfortunately this is no report that will display the amount of time taken to complete 1 polling cycle. To be able to determine the time frame would be to use Wireshark to capture SNMP requests and responses. DCE has the ability to modify the timeouts and retries for SNMP communication. If you don't mind me asking what is the issues that you are facing?
Thanks
Victor

Hi Victor,
Occasionally certain Modbus devices data stop being recorded in DCE. We wanted to ensure that the time between polling cycles is not less that the total time an entire polling cycle takes in case this could be related.
Thanks,
Sel

Hello, You can customize the Polling intervals of all or certain device for testing purposes. In this case, under the Device drop down menu choose the option for Modbus Device Communication Settings then Device scan settings. Select a device or all device to edit its properties to change the polling intervals. Please keep in mind that a future release of DCE with contain a retry option for ModBus devices. So if you are experiencing a large number of lost communication this might be resolved in a future release. The last option I have would involve our DDF creation team to create an abbreviated DDF which you can upload to the DCE server to test your theory. To contact the DDf creation team please email multivendorsupport@schneider-electric.com. Thanks Victor
