DCE 7.4.1.5 stopped recording all camera clips and sensor data over a 24 hour period. No errors were found on NetBotz appliances during the 24 hour period. DCE surveillance and monitoring functions appeared to be working as normal although no historical data was saved. DCE server had to be rebooted to resolve this issue. All camera clips and sensor data have returned to normal recording on the DCE. Anyone else having recording issues with DCE? Is this a known bug with DCE 7.4.1.5

Hi Barry,
No, there is no bug causing this type of issue. If one appliance didn't have it's data showing in DCE, it could have been either a comm issue or an issue with DCE saving data. The latter is less likely unless it is happening with multiple devices. If a reboot resolved it, it is quite possible that DCE had some process hung that a reboot took care of. A reboot is simply the 1st best troubleshooting step.
If the issue lasted more than a day and the data came back after the DCE reboot, then DCE would appear to have had the issue writing it to the database (assuming the NetBotz is not using external storage). This is because with NetBotz appliances, you get all data since the last poll. This differs from SNMP as there, you only get the current value at the time of the poll. Since Botz can only hold up to 1 day's worth of data, more than a day means DCE had the data.
If this is happening frequently, I'd look into updating resources if it's a VM, Purge data in either VM or hardware, and possibly tweak surveillance so there isn't too much data coming in for DCE to manage.
